It depicts a Kenyan sunbird, from her short story 'The Hummingbird', sitting in a Kenyan Croton tree, the seeds of which are a newly developed biofuel.

The design is an homage to the environmental work undertaken by Wangari Maathai in terms of the reforestation in Kenya, and her founding of the Green Belt movement.
The central motif is based on a 19th Century image of a Croton seed, which is beiong developed as a new biofuel in Kenya.
The decorative semi circles either side are relief interpretations of an African fabric, similar to that that Wangari Maathai could have worn
