Community Art Workshops with Ukrainian Refugees at Blackheath Conservatoire.

The Ukrainian workshops are a time to take a breath and have a chance to explore a range of art practices, chat and to share stories together. Designed for complete beginners upwards, the aim is to create an environment to relax in and enjoy some down time. Below, and above in the banner, are some of the workshop outcomes.

Working from and with natural seeds and leaves and clay, we created cast relief artworks in plaster.

Tape Transfer Collages, we created collage work to express our thoughts of the day

Community Art workshops with young carers at the Lightbox Gallery, 'Carers Create'.

Working with a fantastic group of young teenage carers in Woking, facilitated by the 'Carers Create' programme, Lightbox Gallery, we worked together to create individual sculpted artworks. Designing, sculpting in clay, mould making with alginate and and finally casting in Plaster

Community Art workshops with 8-13 yr olds at Blackheath Conservatoire

Working with 8-13 yr olds in a series of workshops we responded to the Diwali festival of light, Eastern European Firebirds and celebration fantasy cakes. Using recycled paper based materials we also considered what art can be made from packaging at home 

Community Art workshops with AFRIL, Action for Refugees Lewisham

Working with AFRIL, along side the Helping Hands  Food bank, Lee, the art classes offered visitors the chance to have a creative experience and relaxing break whilst waiting to collect shopping and enjoy some company.

Teaching; Senior Lecturer BA Production Arts, Royal Central School of Speech and Drama

My professional practice includes the role of Senior Lecturer for BA Production Arts at RCSSD, a three year degree course that trains students to work in film, theatre, community arts, art fabrication and all other performance contexts that require made items. The course academically engages the students in research and the wider context of their making, whilst teaching industry skills and practices. Below are a selection of first, second and third year work produced by the students under the guidance and teaching of staff.
